New Chapter

Image
This quarter is the fourth quarter of my fourth year in the Ilocos Sur National High School; in short, this is the last quarter of my Pisay journey. Because of that, I made it a point that I would maximize all the time I have left in this school. I studied very hard for every subject, and take into my heart all the lessons I have learned this last quarter in my highschool. This year overall has been a wonderful learning experience. I would have to say that throughout all of my year in school, I have learned the most math this school year. Even though we had a huge amount of new math topics to learn, it was a fun experience to be able to understand some of my advises homework. For 10th grade, I think the most important aspect to share with them is that I won't work hard unless they tell me to.      I would probably need to share to my teacher that I won't say if I'm not being challenged, I will just go along with whatever they give me. I believe this is an important ...

Today’s Doodle commemorates this historic anniversary, celebrated annually as Philippines Independence Day.  This revolutionary event was followed by the first public performance of “ Lupang Hinirang ” (“Chosen Land”), the Philippine National Anthem, along with the first hosting of the Philippine national flag, which is featured in today’s Doodle artwork. Filled with symbolic meaning, all of the flag's colors stand for a unique element...

Mother is like a flower each one is beautiful

Image
Mother's Day will be celebrated on May 9 this year. Mothers are the most important persons in our lives and they put in their all to help us hone our skills and/or abilities and carve our personalities. Mother's Day is celebrated every year to appreciate the efforts a mother puts in for her child. People usually give gifts, flower bouquets, etc. to their mothers to make this day special. Mother is the heartbeat in the home: and without her, there seems to be no heartthrob. MOTHER is just a six-letter word but has more worth than any other word in the dictionary. Mother is the first teacher and friend of her child. She is the one who is endowed with all the power. No creature in this world can be as powerful as a mother!! She goes through unimaginable pain to give us the gift of life and never falters. She is the most powerful epitome of love, sacrifices and care. No one can ever replace her at any cost. “ Youth fades; love droops, the leaves of friendship fall; a moth...

Strong WOMEN, Strong GIRLS

Image
Women Empowerment is made up of two words women and empowerment. Empowerment means to give power or authority to someone. So, Women Empowerment means power in the hands of women. It signifies that women should be given equal opportunity in every field, irrespective of any discrimination. In this essay on Women Empowerment, we will discuss the need for women empowerment and the ways through which it can be achieved. Our society comprises men and women. In earlier times, men were considered to be the leading members of a family. They were responsible for earning the livelihood and were the decision takers of the family. On the other hand, women were responsible for doing household work and upbringing of the children. So, the roles were mainly based on gender. There was no involvement of women in decision making. If we assess our entire sector, then research says that women’s issues are either focused on her reproductive role and her body or on her economic role as a worker. But non...

THE SEASON OF LENT

Image
An important season in the life of a Christian has just begun. It is not a season related to weather but rather a time of reflection as a follower of Jesus. It is the season of Lent. Lent is an important season in the life of a follower of Jesus. Many people think about the things they will give up, but let us also consider what we will give back to God during this time. There are two major seasons of importance in the life of a Christian. One is Advent, the time leading up to the celebration of the birth of Jesus. And we have entered the other season, Lent, the 40 days (excluding Sundays) prior to Easter Sunday. Lent is a time of self-examination and introspection of our spiritual lives and a time of repentance to prepare for Easter. These are, of course, things that should mark believers' lives throughout the year, but Lent is a time in which we give particular focus to this aspect of life. GIVING SOMETHING UP One practice that is commonly associated with Lent is fastin...

EMPOWERING WOMEN

Image
The 2021 National Women’s Month Celebration serves as a tribute, a platform, and a call to action that highlights the extraordinary roles of ordinary Juanas in the society as trailblazers and harbingers of change. The campaign is also a call for concrete, sustainable, and inclusive actions towards gender equality.  Women can be empowered in various ways. It can be done through government schemes as well as on an individual basis. At the individual level, we should start respecting women and start giving them opportunities equal to men. New Learning

Image
Another quarter has passed, and another new knowledge that have been gained. This second quarter, students are ready and hoping that new lessons will be added to their knowledge and exciting activities that they will do again. And I was not disappointed because this second quarter I have learned all about internet access and the HTML.            The lessons of this quarter is not easy for me to understand. I may have encountered probems but I easily coped up with it and went on. At the first lesson I did not understand it at first but I thrived to learn and I asked my classmates what's all about the lesson and I understood it easily. Moving on, I will keep what I am doing because it's a good lesson and I will do my best to keep it. I will hope that the next quarter it will be exciting again and I hope that it will be easy as the second. Because of my experiences in this quarter, I knew my strength that I need to maintain and my weaknesses I ...

Kannawidan Festival! Sure Ilocos Sur!

Image
The festival is an annual festival that takes place annually. A celebration of religious remembrance. The fiesta in Vigan usually has a lot of events. For example: street dancing and the carnival. But because of the uncertain example, it was canceled because of the disease we dread. The Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is our celebration of the culture and attractions here in our province as well as our way of thanking Almighty God not only for the abundant blessings but also for the rich heritage, culture, and traditions of our beloved province. We get used to this rich festival every year. However, in the global crisis we face due to the rapid spread of Corona Virus Disease, we will only have a simple celebration as an honor while still putting our health and safety first. Our provincial government has organized a few simple events while limiting the public to allow the observance of proper health protocols to ensure the safety of the people. We may not enjoy the annual celebration as befo...

A New Normal Celebration

Image
The festival is an annual festival that takes place annually. A celebration of religious remembrance. The fiesta in Vigan usually has many events. For example: the street dancing and the parade and especially the carnival. But due to uncertain example, it was canceled due to covid-19 disease This Year’s Vigan Town Festival celebration is not the same as previous years due to the pandemic going on around the world. So the citizens living in Vigan City don’t feel like the town fiesta. But their culture and if they don’t celebrate Vigan Fiesta, their year is not complete so they just celebrate at their house even if there is a pandemic.

CHANGES IN LIFE

Image
Do you look at yourself in the mirror and want to change the way you look? Perhaps the long nose you inherited from your great-grandfather is not all that flattering. On the other hand, you may already think that you are the best man or man in the land, but do you want to be smarter, or more attractive, or more ambitious? There are three things about myself that I want to redesign.  The first thing I will change is my being a rude person to acquaintances and being polite to them as well The next thing about me that I will change is to be generous and loving to my neighbor and especially to my family. There is another thing I will change about myself and that is what I have because I am always oppressed because they know I am very weak because I do not retaliate I would rather just keep quiet than take revenge because I am not as bad as them .  Although it was great to be this new person, I realized there were some things I could change and others I could not. I can change how ...

My 1st Quarter Experience

Image
Everything is now different. However, I learned a lot from this quarter. The knowledge of many teachers has been shared with us. Some examples are, there is not enough time to answer due to lack of knowledge and resources. Although there are many challenges.  During this pandemic in my 3 or 4 months of taking this modular class I encouter or experience a lot going through a period of change is very challenging and emotionally draining and being one of the student who is lacking motivation. In the first place I was so excited because finally we students back in the learning but it is too hard for me without teachers in our front disscussing the lesson and explaining which part of the module where in my difficulties are. Home learning can measures our knowledge understanding and our behavoir sometimes overthinking can break our dream. We say "Bahala na" "Okay na to basta may sagot" instead of saying "LORD HELP ME TO PASS THIS ASSESSMENT" "GUIDE MO OH L...

MY EXPERIENCE IN MODULAR LEARNINGS

Image
Credits by; LYKA GOLLOSO MALABANAN My experience with the modular is quite complicated. I can't manage my time because of the very many activities in a one module that needs to be done. I always ran out of time with the time allotted,it's very hard because after I finish answering one module in a subject I can't rest because there are modules followed that need to be done. All I can say is that modular class is not for me. I am not a fast learner when it comes to subjects that involve english and with this step up. I won't experience having a through discussion of the topics by someone who's more inclined with the subject. I hope this step up will end soon, because we're not learning anymore, all were doing is just for compliance. How can I learn something on this module if all we did was answer, losing the appetite to review because it is not just one subject that has many activities and we will answer. It's like 2 modules in one subject you need to answer...

Towards a COVID-19-resilient Philippines.

Image
https://www.americamagazine.org/sites/default/files/main_image/20181128T1121-22263-CNS-PHILIPPINES-DUTERTE-CHURCH_800.jpg The COVID-19 pandemic has brought upon the world with challenges. Almost all countries had to shut down their economies to halt the spread of the virus and the Philippines is one of those countries who have taken strict measures by implementing the Enhanced Community Quarantine on 15 March 2020 even if it is difficult for us. The lockdown did help in controlling the spread of the virus and apparently, the Philippines is already flattening the curve. The number of cases reported in the country is no longer growing at an exponential rate, however, flattening the curve does not necessarily mean that the Philippines is winning its battle against the pandemic. There are other measures to consider to ultimately say that a country is winning the battle.  The pandemic is indeed a battle of every human and every unit of government, but to ultimately win this battle, the ...

Laurel St. San Miguel Manila,Philippines.             Dear President Duterte,             How are you Sir? Hope you are healthy and well. We thought you were different from previous leaders. Your plans for the country are promising. We hope the Philippines will be a better place to live with you as a leader.             When the COVID-19 pandemic began to invade our country, we hope you will be the top of everything. But as we watch you talk to your countrymen according to the situation, our hearts are depressed. We hope you do better. But we still believe and rely on you because it must be very difficult, especially at your age, to rule a country of over seven thousand islands and over one hundred million people. I understand that the weather is very difficult, not only fo...
